Rano Expects PKK Working Meeting Develops Programs to Improve Public Welfare

Jakarta Vice Governor Rano Karno hopes the 2026 Regional Working Meeting (Rakerda) of the Jakarta Family Welfare Empowerment Movement (PKK), held on June 8-9, will develop programs that support the city's efforts to build a prosperous, healthy, happy, competitive, self-reliant, and culturally enriched society.

As PKK is also at the forefront of our efforts

“We have been looking forward to this working meeting. Hopefully, its outcomes will provide valuable input, as PKK is also at the forefront of our efforts,” Rano said while opening the 2026 PKK Working Meeting at Hotel GranDhika Iskandarsyah in Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, on Monday (6/8).

Pramono: PKK Must Be the Main Driving Force of Jakarta

Rano revealed that, according to data from the Statistics Agency (BPS), the number of slum neighborhood units (RWs) in Jakarta declined by around 50 percent over the past year, from 418 to 210 RW.

“This data can serve as a reference for PKK in helping further reduce the number of slum RWs in Jakarta,” he said.

He also expressed hope that PKK's work programs would reach and educate residents on adopting healthier lifestyles to prevent various diseases.

“PKK programs are very important for the city,” Rano emphasized.

On the occasion, the vice governor also encouraged Jakarta PKK cadres to develop various productive creative financing programs.

Jakarta PKK Chair Hani Pramono explained that the working meeting, themed "Through the Ibu Bisa Movement, PKK Advances Jakarta Families," brought together 150 participants from the supervisory board, provincial, city, and regency-level PKK teams, as well as PKK partners.

According to Hani, the meeting serves as a strategic forum to align policy directions, formulate measures to accelerate priority programs, and strengthen synergy and commitment in supporting regional development through the implementation of the Ibu Bisa movement.

Hani expressed hope that the working meeting would gather suggestions, input, and exchanges of ideas and experiences to produce work programs with a more sustainable impact on Jakarta families in the future.

“Let us strengthen collaboration, the spirit of mutual cooperation, and innovation in mobilizing the community through the Ibu Bisa movement,” she said.
